Going to patch a few things up. Should i just gets aome old panwls or huy new steel?

New steel. I have 1 and 1.2mm steel. Should be fine for non structural panels.

Ask for off cuts (usually about the size of a boot lid) cheap as they scrap them usually

We use .8 mm in our crash shop for every thing non structural. It is plenty thick enough and easyer to work with.
