comeone someone must now how heavy a 120y is, just thinking that if its as heavy or hevier then a s13 180sx then there will be little advantage of putting a 180sx power plant into a 120y....
i d/l a movie of a ca18det powerd 120y 2-door sedan running a 14.8 1/4 mile... i woulda thought it be faster than that...
maby mid-to-high 13's is what i had imagined...
am i dreaming ?

i think thats its fair to say that the 120y would not have been properly sorted before the quarter it did, either that or too much wheel spin, OR he/she cant drive for sh*t!
the 120y should weigh well under 1000kg i would think, after all the 1200 weighs just over 700kg! the cars are virtuall the same aside from the shape and slightly more weight??? any thoughts anyone else?

Stock 2dr 120Y sedan weights 790KG, just 100kg more than 1200. But with L-series engine, transmission, crossmember, struts and 160J rearaxle it weights over 150KG more.

But still probably 1000 lbs less than an S13 180SX. Those things weigh quite a bit.

Do you have a 120Y service manual? They almost always list the curb weights of the vehicle(s). If you don't have one, you need one anyway.

1200 2-drs (US models) are under 1,700 lbs (771 kg) "curb weight". I measured mine on a scale once and it was indeed under 1700. Nissan's brochure that came with the US 1200 listed the 2-dr Sedan at 1640 lbs. The coupe (IIRC) at 1670. Note that this is about 150 lbs lighter than a VW beetle.

B210 (120y) are just under 2,000 lbs. The '73 is probably lighter, but the 74-78 US models had the heavy US DOT bumpers.

Compare this to the 2002 Honda Civics, Ford Focus, Mitsu Lancers, etc. which are around 2,700 lbs.

I have an ad that lists the weights of the 1971 US 1200 coupe and sedan. 1587lbs for the coupe and 1609lbs for the sedan. I'm going to assume that the 73 models are heavier because of the beefier bumper brackets and the big fat braces added in the doors.
