Hi Guys,
took the head off my supposedly stock (never been touched before) A15 and found these pistons inside, apart from no 4 that probably had a chew down on a broken piece of a valve, there is no damage to the head.
these pistons are not standard ones, can anyone perhaps identify them, mainly because id like to find out if its worthwhile machining them dowm to drop CR for turbo ?

That looks standard to me. There are varying types of dished pistons and these are one of them.

I would be cautious in machining these down. Why don't you go for a bigger dished piston, thick head gasket or bigger cc cylinder head combustion chamber? H75?

Probably then an imported engine, because the local(south african version) of these pistons looks a little different.

Maybe just go with new pistons, like you said.
thanks

Strike three for original pistons, my unbored A15 has them. Stupid really they could of saved some coin by using standard style dishes in thier A15 pistons

That dish is pretty good already for light to moderate boost.

That second dished piston is the broad shallow dish that I tend to find in A14 engines, except the EGI model, which has similar dish to the one you posted earlier.
