hey mate

Not too sure on which are best but depending on what ur application is, also research on cast pistons.

also Search and pm forum member "bige" for a-series parts and info.

cheers

Forged pistons are not as good as cast, except if you need extreme strength for example supercharging. Cast is the the way to go for a hot high power engine.

dd knows whats up ! cast are cheap and seem to be good these days ,my old boy hates cast pistons because he had one let go in a 327 he had built when he was 25 ,that was 28 years ago and pistons these days seem to hang on abit better

plus i paid 70 bucks for mine and they have put up with 12:1 and alot of burnouts/abuse without fail ,when the head was removed they were all smooth and didnt show signs of giving in!

cheers

In 1970, A12 cast pistons were super strong. You dont need special pistons

Which brings us to the other question. 79 mm pistons create a much larger A15, which in itself is worth it.
