Yes, the 710 crossmember bolts into the B210. Use the 710 LCA, castor rods and struts.

Use any L-series 5-speed you want. Just have to modify the rear mount, shorten tailshaft and cut new shifter hole a little way back. There is one L-series "stumpy" transmission which is the same length as B210 automatic, so you can use the stock B210 automatic tailshaft. Not sure which vehicles it came it, but here it comes in 1977-1979 200SX (S10 Silvia).

thnks ddgonzal

i would like to know what other alternatives i have in terms of gearbox as the L series are quite rare here.

also the front struts on the 710 are drum type. wanted to keep my disc brakes, but i guess if i change only the LCA this might cause a camber issue?

The B210 LCAs do not bolt to the 710 crossmember. Unless they are PB210, GB210, or North American B210 spec.

The alternatives are any L-series transmission. I would use the 4-speed as it is more common than the 5-speed.

I've used an 610 x-member in a B210 for an L series conversion. Had to trim the end of the B210 castor rod brackets for clearance. Finding a sway bar that fits might be another issue.

Datsun 180B or 610 in different markets also bolts in to a 120Y B210, later Nissan MR 30 series Skylines used the stumpy gearbox at least in Australia but probably elsewhere also.
