Is this the same starter you were using previously in Strange problem with the starter?

2 weeks ago:

Did you ever clean the battery terminals and cable ends down to bare metal? Then coat them with a bit of clean oil to help slow down the normal corrosion of lead-acid battery system.

From my experience if you hear a "click"thats the solinoid engaging which means there is power geting to the solinoid but the internal contacts that supply power to the starter motor are dirty[coroded/worn]and you need a new solinoid, next time it happens if you bridge across the 2 large terminals on the solinoid[use a screwdriver] and the starter motor turns then your problem is the solinoid if it doesent, its the startermotor, could be a faulty armature

That is often true, but the most common cause of "click" symptom is slightly corroded battery connections.

The bridge test is a good one to narrow the causes of the symptom.
