Nice port separation but way expensive.

I know a guy paid similar $ for a genuine ex Nissan motor sport option gearbox.... Way expensive but if you have a period ex race car, it's timeless

The FIA head for the A-series is the GX head. See FIA.

One of the 1200.com forum members has one of these bad boys. Not sure if he ever got around to using it as yet though.

thats a lovely setup Benny. Strange Nissan only used cast iron camshaft towers in most FIA heads.

That porting shots could have better valve guide ramping from almost the start of the top of the port where a splitter bridge can be used to spread the inlet charge to the sides rather than form an eddy around the valve stem much like the splitter on twin port inlets. I think it was Audi or Renault that did this on some 2 valve heads.

the early FIA L series heads had the cast iron cam towers, thicker valve stems and a few other "odd" ideas.

the later, more desireable heads use the standard alloy cam towers.

When I boughyt My FIA Head an early one it came complete and for $700.00 in 1989 I was not complaining with some carefull mods it ended up being on a par with the later ones.
Was particularily good on a stock stroke 2200,The nice aspect of the early heads was the Fine thread rocker arm adjusters much easier to get valve adjustments spot on and any FIA head was head and shoulders above normal L series heads as far as coolant flow went for even head temperatures.
