I'm modifying my rear axle to support up to 12" wide wheels inside the fenders, but I'm unsure of how wide the front rims can be without exceeding beyond the fenders. I already ordered coil-overs smaller in diameter, but I'm not sure if it will make a difference.

How wide can I make the front rims on any offset, without modifying the fenders?

I have 6.5 inch with the perfect offset on the front to be close to the coilovers, you could possibly go 7 inches but I think you will end up scrubbing the guard.

Are you moving your leaf springs inwards?, 12 inches is a lot for the rear.

I hope you done a hell of a lot of cutting to fit 12" wide in the rear.i cut a lot out and only just squeezed my 17x10"s under my sedan

The wheels don't come close to the guards. Even if you fit 10" wide wheels, they won't touch the gaurd -- though the tyre will rub.

So it is the tyre size that is the limiting factor.

7's are about as wide as you can go without cutting anything. The works racecars used 13 x 8 and 13 x 9 with suitable flares.

I have seen 10" wide wheels fitted without cutting or other modifications. The wheel opening is much larger than 13" wheels, so they won't touch.

The key to this fitment is keeping the tire diameter very small, so they fit below the wheel arch. And then limiting wheel travel via the bump stops. It is not very practical, but it will fit.

A better question, perhaps, is: What is the largest tyre that will fit with full suspension travel and clearance, and what offset wheel goes with that?

No cutting. I still await my shortened axle. As for the body, I welded supports in between the "chassis", if you want to call it that, making it look somewhat like a ladder, and simply shifted the springs to attach to two of the cross beams.

The suspension is stiffer with the the retentioned leafs and smaller coil-overs up front. I've rolled out the guards a bit but I don't count on it to make too much of a difference. She's currently running on 175/70 R13x5 no scrubbing.

What do I need to do to get 13" x10"s in front?
What tire size would be appropriate?
How close can I get to the original overall wheel diameter?

Thank You Gentlemen
PS: I'd really appreciate any links to examples

Don't know if they will fit. I have seen 13x8s on the front and 13x10 on the rear.

To make 13x8 fit on the front
* Use stock height body (no lowering)
* Use 205/50R13 tires
* Fit a larger bump stop to the front strut (limiting suspension traverl)
* Crank in the steering knuckle adjuster (to limit steering turns)

These will stuck out past the edge of the body.

For the front, 185 on 6" wheel would be better, allowing regular suspension travel.
