I'm thinking running no booster just a good quality wilwood master.its only a weekend driver so not real worried about the efforts to push the pedal.what size bore would people suggest and whats your thaughts on this for people who have driven both? Iv built it to be more of a real drivers car then to just kick back and relax :) would also have a much neater bay without a booster

I prefer no booster. Once I work out how to get rid of it in the stanza its gone.

Run a 7/8 possibly. I was running 11/16 with 4 spot front but drums in back. Now 13/16 same set up but boosted. Prefer non boosted feel.

+1 for no booster

just consider that if you need to engineer the car for road use
having large brakes may require too much pedal effort to pass the brake test

that said, i'd still prefer no booster even with the extra effort required

7/8 will be too big for no booster i think, there will be near zero brake pedal travel and the brakes will be locked up

11/16 is great for me with 4 wheel discs, 4 pot callipers on front. never too much travel (including racing around phillip island)

11/16 is the stock size for Datsun 1200. So just run the stock disc brake master cylinder.

Dd Why would a run such a small master when I have massive brakes wen the standed Datsun master was intended for small brakes

Consider 1200rallycar's experience:

The 11/16 "standard Datsun master" was not necessarily "intended for small brakes". It primarily was chosen to balance out the leg pressure required against the size of the pistons.

With larger brakes, the pistons are farther away from the center, thus more leverage requiring less pressure to stop faster. If instead you are using small-diameter rotors with large calipers, I agree that a larger master with a booster would be called for.
