hi.. there's one b310 with a14 egi engine for sale. with godleg transmission.
I am planning to buy the car, spare the parts and swap the engine and gear box to my B310.

Im going to view the tomorrow.

my question is, what are the main things i should check and focus.
will the ecu replaceable with other model? because a series egi is extra extremely rare here in Malaysia. this is the 1st a series egi that im going to view.

attached the pictures that the owner sent..

It is very rare anywhere. Rare in Japan.

Those ECU do not go bad, very durable. It may or may not be compatible with S110 ECU. Or a MegaSquirt can be used.

The car looks quite fine already from what is photographed. If you buy it, why don't you just drive it as it is? Is that an option?

The B310 SGXE and GXE are the most powerful factory A-series passenger vehicles. You increase the rarity to borderline unique if you keep that vehicle as is. Most are wrecked out and the EGI sold and the remainder of the vehicle left to scrap.

Thanks for the reply.
the rear part of the car has serious accident. And the chassis rusted. And the owner has lost the registration card.
that's why I planned to scrap the car.

Rip everything egi off it and throw it on yours and make it a b310 egi replica

test drove the car today... very smooth. i repeat VERY smooth. but i DONT feels its powerful than c22 a15. maybe because of the engine condition? oil leaking everywhere. will overhaul the engine and test the power again. will buy the car in couple of days..

the gearbox is little tricky since i dont get use to dogleg. but smooth shift and i dont feel a freeplay.

the car comes with rear antirollbar as well, but drum brake no LSD.

need some clarification...
1) when the seller 1st start the engine, the idling was very low.. after the engine get hot, its around 1200 rpm. it that something wrong with the cold start assistance.

2) when i disturb the wiring harness near the injector, the timing drops and back to normal again. is it serious issue.?

3) dashpot is not there as u can see in the picture. can get new in ebay?

4) last question, i have an a15 complete engine on the floor. after i buy the car, instead of overhauling the a14, can i just shift the whole egi system to the a15? what is the pro and con?

5) what part is that in the circle? the wire (small circle) doesnt connect anywhere..

thanks.

It sounds like it may have some problems.

To quickly assess engine condition conduct a compression test, timing check, listen for rocker arm chatter and read the spark plugs.

Most of these need a full electronic and mechanical overhaul when purchased. Some report the throttle valves become stubborn, you can inspect both valves by removing the air supply inlet hose and viewing the valves as the throttle is moved.

I cannot see the part in the red circle

The idle speed issue sounds like a wire connection problem, as the idle speed is electrically controllled
