Hey everyone,

Say i'm wanting to lower my dato 1200 ute. Ihave some 2" blocks for the back and i've bought some original springs to get compressed at a locasl suspension place.

Some people say that i may have to get the shock shortented ? What's the deal with this? Is it based on how low i go ? What's a good measure to say. I was going to put the blocks in the back and kind've make an assesment form that ? Or is there a better way of doing it. Oh i have 14" rims to, if that matters ? So yeh can avoide having to shorten my shock etc... Any help with this would be heaps appreciated ! CHEERS !!!

If you dump your car 2" (or any inches)you reduce the amount of suspension travel. Your suspension will bottom out all the time. It makes for a pretty rough ride. Shortening the bumps stops helps a little. Stiffer springs and shocks help, too.
I drove around with my car lowered 1.5"-2",with stock length stuts for a few years. I knew it was bottoming out but didn't realise how much till I shortened the struts.
