I've got my hands on a H190 diff out of a 260c. Just wondering if I need to fit the leaf springs off the 260c to the ute ? Or can I use the the original leaf springs off my ute ? The H190 leaf springs do look different... I currently have a H165 diff set up, also can I get away with not shorting the H190 diff ?

It depends on how much wider the 260C diff is compared to the original. What you will most likely find is you'll have to move the spring perches in to suit the centre to centre distance of the 1200 ute housing. You might have to use the spring perches from the 1200 ute housing as well, depending on how the shock mounts. If it's off the bottom plate, try & use the 260c mounts, so you can sell on the 1200 housing. As for fitting, it's more than likely you;ll have to change your wheel offset. I'd imagine the 260c diff is wider than the 1200. A set of front wheel offset wheels might work. Also I think the 260c has 5 studs instead of four, so you might have to get the axles redrilled. or get some 5 stud discs for the front, like 180sx.

Sweet ! Thanks for that ..... What about the tail shaft ? Will the standard 1200 fit up ? Or will I have to grab the 260c shaft ? Can you recommend a rear disk conversion for this diff ? It has drum set up ATM I think it's a 260c 330 series ....

The only H190 that I know for sure is the H190 out of a C22 van, which was the same distance as the H165, so a 1200 ute tailshaft was used. Some of the heavier cast iron H190's might be longer. I have an S12 Gazelle rear end I'm fitting into a Sunny in a few weeks, I should be able to tell you then. Or just run a tape measure over what you have & see how they compare. As for rear disks, some of the later 6 cylinder cars should have a disc package you could use. Maybe 280C,300ZX or even 280ZX.
