No an A12 box does not, some one here will soon tell you what does bolt onto the back of a CA18 motor. I think there are a few types that will fit.

Sorry for my ignorance. Why can't you use the CA18DET gearbox? Can't you modify the tailshaft so it can fit in?

Thanks

Ricardo

Ok here goes.
For a CA18DE/DET- Series 3 Bluebird Bellhousing. 2.4L Skyline Stumpy 5 speed.

There's also 2 kinds of Gearbox, Silvia and Gazelle. The Gazelle ones are about $400-$500, but they are about the same length as the stumpy combination, that's why they are so expensive. They are stronger and newer than the 2.4L Skyline. The two CA18DET boxes have similar internals which are strong enough to withstand a worked CA18DET. The internals are very similar to the one used on the SR20DET.

I've got a 4 dr sedan, and I'm using the original CA18DET longer box, as I plan to break some while racing. And at $120 each in good condition, makes for a good "weakest link" in the powertrain.

I think you'll find it's a CA18DET import only Gazelles. But I'm not real sure on that. But I'm fairly certain they are Gazelle. They externally look similar to the regular Silvia CA18DET gearbox, but are about 25cm shorter. I assure you they exist, and are more common than A-series 5 speeds. I saw 3 or 4 of them at SSS Automotives when I got my gearbox.
