Hi guys,
I have a problem where my accelerator is sticking sometimes. It only seems to happen in the hot weather. I can drive to work in the morning with no problem, but in the afternoon when its hotter, half way home, the accelerator intermittently starts sticking. (i.e. I take my foot off the pedal and it doesnt drop the revs). If I tap the pedal, it unsticks and drops the revs.
I have given the linkages and everything on the carby a once over with WD40. The cable seems to move freely enough. I was going to get a new cable for it, but before I forked out my money, I thought I would see what you guys thought.
Thanks
Wayne

the cable is not frayed at all?

all i can say is fix it quick cause if it gets stuck in a bad spot you will blow you motor before ou have time to react, happend to my brothers escort, actuall he ran in to our old house under similar circumstances once

I cant see that it is frayed anywhere.

I have it off the road at the moment.
I am riding my push bike around.

just a thought, maybe try a new spring for the throttle return on the carbie...

if it's old it's possible that the heat can distort and make the spring weak so it wont have enough strength to force it back...

anyway, l'd fix it, beats riding a bike!!!!

Same thing happened to me. Twice!
It was the cable. If you have cut off one of the ends then take it out and run your fingers up and down it. If it hurts then there are a few tiny wire that are frayed and they are sticking...
