Loud noise in 3rd gear only ??

Hey all!

A problem...

I have an a14 with 5-s box, when i put it in 3rd gear it makes this loud noise like something's rubbing... whne i de-accelatarte te noise dies down but is generally really loud... there's no loss of power and no akwardness getting it into 3rd at all... just makes this wicked like a bearing sound or something ??? All the other gears are fine ???

Any suggestions would be appreciated... is my box screwed or ???

Try changing the oil and check to see if you can see any fillings in the oil, silver will indicate a bearing or gear. Either way it has to come apart.

I thought it may be oil ??

It makes the sound like ding-ding-ding-ding....really fast like...
