i was told recently that here in nsw the rta was not letting anyone register 1200's with ca18 turbos in them, due to too much power.the story was that even if it was engineer approved, the rta still refused to register it.anyone heard similar,or been knocked back at rego.also, full rollcages were also verboten, half cages only.

Even if I did know I wouldn't trust me.
Ring up an engineer. They would know.
The RTA would have NFI about what is legal and what is not...
Would depend who you talked to and what mood they were in and if they had learnt to read and whether they have an extra chromosome or not...
Stupid RTA people...

Nah, I reckon it's crap too.

I know of several Utes getting passed in the last 2 months.

I wouldn't sweat it. Anything is possible. If they won't let me register it.. I won't

I'll save it for closed track racing

Chris.

On the same thread of stupid RTA people... Anolder fella there told me that when I was registering my 1970 B110, that it was "pre-compliance" and that it should not have any compliance plates..believe me, most of the employees are trained monkeys. Never ask for help at an office, make a phonecall to their helpline, the people are friendlier and are trained so much better.

I think your all pritty safe with the rta.
I just took my hilux ute which had a engineered 253 in it to show them the new 308 I put in it, I just acted dumb (wasnt hard) said nothing about it being a 308 and got the engine ok'ed
goes heaps better now
