Need help swapping a A14 into a 1200 coupe

Hi, as the title says I need help doing a swap into my coupe. I bought a rusted out b210 for its perfect running gear. What parts can I use from the 210 to make the swap the easiest? Would it help if I did a cross member swap? I saw that it was a direct bolt over part. I also noticed the a14 has a different oil pan then the stock a12. Is that something I will have to change? Any advice would be highly appreciated. I need to be driving my 1200 again. It's been parked for almost two years. Took almost a year and a half to find the donor car. So I need to get it driving for this show season.

Congrats on getting the parts car!

The B210 north america uses a different oil pan. A14 generally uses the same pan as the 1200, for example A14 from Datsun 210 (1979-1982) uses the 1200 pan. Solution: Swap the 1200 oil pan onto the A14

Thanks man, what about the crossmember? Will that make the swap the easiest? It's hard to find parts where I'm at so I want to use all I can from the 210. I read about the engine swap on here. It says to get another passenger side motor mount. If I do the crossmember swap do I still need to buy different mounts? Or will it bolt up?

Did you find a 210 also?
* B210: 1974-1978
* 210: 1979-1982

Yes, you'll need motor mount brackets from either a B210 or a 210, because the early (pre 1974) brackets bolt on different

Use the 1200 motor mount rubber insulators. If they are bad you can use the B210 or 210 version

There is only one 1200 where I live, but I can buy all the parts I need via mail order/internet

Swapping the crossmember is the hardest way. There was one guy that used the B210 crossmber, he re-drilled the chassis holes to match the 1200, and used all the B210 suspension, because the 1200 suspension doesn't bolt up to the B210 crossmember

The easiest way is to use the 1200 crossmember. Since the A14 has the mount 35 mm further back, make two simple flat plates with two holes drilled in them. See A14 Swap

Use TWO right-side motor mount brackets so they will line up with the 1200 crossmember

1200 brackets (which don't bolt to A14)

You want something like the two 1200 brackets, but which bolt to an A14. The answer is two Right-Side A14 brackets

You'll also need the exhaust pipe out of the B210. It is a 3-bolt flange for an A14, while the 1200 exhaust pipe is 2-bolt for an A14

When I did this swap, I used the entire exhaust from a 210 wagon. But B210 exhaust may or may not fit the 1200. You can have the pipe welded to your existing 1200 exhaust system

But engines (A12 and A14) use a 1-1/2" exhaust system. You can go bigger it will sound badder but not actually make more HP

Yes, changing to a 1974-1994 Datsun 1200 crossmember, which was never sold in north america

B210 crossmember is different
