Hi all,

I am having a dilemma here.

I was told I have stanza struts, I knew they weren't 1200 but am now thinking they are possibly sunny. I only took my first good look today as I am going to scrap them anyhow, i only have the car for the shell.

Is there any easy way to tell straight up, I'm not to up-to-date with identifying stanza vs. sunny struts.

Or could they be outta something else?

Reason asking, I had 6" wheels bolt straight up with no spacers, now they won't go on another car with stanza struts The only thing i can nail it down to is possibly different struts?

Any help appreciated

do the struts you have have japanese or australian calipers.the early stanzas were imports with identical brakes to the sunny, which were also imports.the later round & suare headlight stanzas were aus production with girlock calipers.so you might have japanese struts, but still from a stanza.hope this helps some.

Yes thats another thing I was concerned about, any suggestion how to tell?

They are certainly nice big brakes and have nissan or the logo stamped on them from memory.

I am unaware of where the struts came from as they came on the car...

Any info helps

probably not stanza then!

Stanza struts have a 9" disc and a 110mm OD spring. If you can measure the disc, and spring on the cars, and the brand of caliper (normally cast into them) I might be able to give you an idea of what they are.

The australian made stanza struts have "Armstrong" stamped on them on the strut body.

Cheers

Thanks fellas, OK maybe not nice and big brakes, but bigger than 1200

Ok, here is what I have...

110mm OD spring with Nissan on the strut, Girlock calipers with Datsun on the bracket and 9" disks.

I think I remember his website (which looks pretty good btw) saying he had 9.5" discs. He may have 200B struts or hubs and discs on the Stanza struts? There are some significant variations in the distance from hub mounting face to strut body on various datsun struts.

To make 180B or 200B struts fit from memory you need the Sunny steering arm, check this out also!
