dammit, i forgot who i was talking too bout this diff
i went and checked out the one at the wrecker i said about and it was a "1500" ute not a 520 is that the same?, the diff kinda looks diffrent to me, there was also a ute there with L18 the diff looked more familiar to me, know what it is?
how much does your mate want for his and where is it again?
does the alloy centre look diffrent or is there anyway to tell it from others while in car

The Datsun trucks:
520 is 1966-1969, sold in US with 1300cc 521 is 1969-1972, sold in US with 1600cc. A few early 521 had the 1300cc engine. 620 is 1973 up to the 1981 or so L16 in 1973 L18 in 1974 L20B in 75-up
does the alloy centre look diffrent? Yeah, it's silver instead of black paint and rust ... AND a magnet won't stick to it.

hiya michael, that was me with the h190 diff.i'll call the friend again, but lately his answer is always 'make me an offer',which is getting too car salesman for me.i'll see him next monday when i pick up some wheels from him,& have a good look at the diff for you.i always thought the 520 ute was badged as a 1500 ute, with the 1500 j series motor.

The alloy carrier H190 diffs go for $200 - $350 depending on ratio and who you buy them from. In Oz they only came in the 520/620 utes and old 411 SSS bluebirds I believe.

im gonna go to the wreckers and check it out again
i want to know if it will all bolt straight with the mounts that are on it and does it have fatter axels and all that, also i wanna know how strong the alloy centre is and im hoping i can swap my sprung load locker bits into it, can you swap a h165 centre into it later on if i wanted to put my 4.875:1 vanette centre in?, oh and if the brakes all bolt up same as a h165 too so i can put bluebird disc over drums on there
thanks, Michael
p.s. B310gx did you ever chase up a sprung load locker?

michael,i saw that diff on monday,& the housing is the same width as a 1200 flange to flange, sorry i didn't have a tape measure, but compared it to a 1200 ute housing, with the drums the same thickness as the larger drums.the axles as large spline & very extra tonka,& are 6 stud.the diff centre is definitely alloy.the owner is frank jenkins & you can contact him on 02-4774-1621.i haven't had the finances to do the spring diff yet,but it is definitely on the list.i just got some new rear shocks for the sunny as one started leaking after bathurst, plus i got a seat from frank for it,plus the rego is due early march,so money is tight now.ps have you still got that gx exhaust manifold as i might need one for a friends car when we put the a15 into it.

Easy just cut off 2 studs! But it will still only fit the 6 stud rims! Nah but really you have to get a diff shop or some place that does this stuff and get then to weld them up and drill them for 4 studs
