So, I've got a beer in my hand, and I'm staring at this diff sitting on the floor of my garage. It's outa a A15 C20 vanette. I know this coz I've been lying under the thing for the last hour...It looks H190 esque, but it's nothing like the monster 190's i'm used to in the 240RS. (for example, I can actually lift this thing, easily in fact)
It has an alloy head, 4.6 ratio and baby axles
(22mm spline, the 240 runs 30mm spline).
It seems to be about 100mm wider than the stock coupe diff.
Is this an anomoly? can I get other ratios? I'm only in it for 60 bucks, I'd just hate to break something and find out i'm stuffed....
I was just gonna narrow it up a bit, lock it, and throw it under the super hillclimb coupe project
Scored the oval port head for $30 as well...just cant help myself....

What the hell is this doing in the classifieds section???? Call me a web site virgin then....

hmmm, interesting.

It sounds more like a H165. I have a H165 or two on the floor of my shed, perhaps we should compared some dimensions.
If it is and is no use to you, I'll happily take it off your hands - I'm looking for a 4.6 c/w&p.

the alloy head bit has me puzzled

it would be h190 as you can get alloy centres for them from 1500 utes (some not all, not sure which ones though)

i definately want the alloy centre if thats going!!!!!!!!

Jeez you with a beer in your hand, I find that hard to picture LOL...When Uncle Nathen gets back from the International get him to have a look at it. He knows so much about those bloody van diffs he'll be able to tell you the name of the bloke in the factory who assembled it.!!!! But if you pull the head out measure the ring gear diameter, it will be 165mm or 190mm telling you what diff it is...

yep, it's a 190. Must be one of the early small axle ones.
I'll just narrow it up by 60 or so mil and throw it in the hole.

I don't mean to hi jack this thread, but if anyone stumbles across a 4.3 or 4.6 H165 c/w&p (or whole diff head) I'd take it off your hands and look after you along the way if you know what I mean
