which utes came with the chrome grill?
i'm looking at the 70s Datsun 1200 Utes
and wondered when they changed from chrome to plastic

The JDM catalog shows:

Sedan grille (stainless) up to Apr 1978
Coupe grille (plastic) Apr 1978 - Oct 1989
Square light grille Oct 1989-up

My 1980 ute has the same grill as MYB110 and I have been told I have the right grill
MYB110 is a mate of mine and see him everyday and I can tell you the two grills are the same I don't know if mine has been swaped as some stage but I will fine out this week
Notice the emblem on the ute is different to the earlier coupes that we had here
