I have been trying to get some quotes to get an R31 skyline diff shortened for my 1200 ute. The cheapest quote I've got over the phone was 900$ (in sydney, $1100 in Newcastle)). Plus buying the diff, which seems to be about 100-700 bucks (depoending on quality), then to get an LSD add 500$. I have read of ppl (in some forums) paying as little as 300$ to get a diff shortened. Can anybody help me out?

I live near Newcastle, WA but it is cheaper to drive into Seattle, where it can be done for about $450. Or do you live on Newcastle Island near Sydney? In that case Vancouver might be the place to get it done.

I'm getting one shortened at the moment and i was quoted 650 - 700 from a place in ballarat. Apparently they do good work. I don't know too much about the diffs but this bloke told me that you can pull the lsd centre out of one of the borg warner falcon diffs that has some super #### ratio like 2.7:1 (and they are dirt cheap for that reason) and you can put it into a single spinner diff.
