The reason for the message though is ive been racking my brains thinking of a set of plates for when the cars finished keeping in mind that it looks like a granmda's car(2 tone brown) and I want to keep it as much of a sleeper as possible(4 a while anyway) Heres some of what I came up with, Any suggestions appreciated
SCRTWPN, WAS1200, DATSQIK, TOOSLO, SLODAT, WHLSPN, STOCKA, SPULDUP, DATJET, OLDSKL, GOTBST, ONBST, BIGBST, SLOW, NANNA, GRANNY, SLEEPY, TIRED, ZZZZZZ, HOWZDAT, 2SLO4U, GRANMA, TRYME. Im thinkin nanna or granny he he wat do you reckon??

You can't use plates from another state. If you live in Tassie, then you can really only use plates from there.

In NSW they cost heaps..$400 / year + $32 first year ordering fee.
If someone else has them, then you will have to wait for them to put them up for sale, or for them to return them to the registry.

Welcome to the numberplate game!

If you wanted, say VB10-68, & that combination was in use in another state, it wouldn't matter, because your'e in Tas. As long as it is a legal combination of characters, AND it is available, AND you have the spare cash to throw away every year, Then you can have them.

As Dattodude wrote, you can not legally use plates from, or have your car registered in, another state if you are a permanant resident of Tas.
As for me, i'l just go with the 1937 issue black & whites that have been on every car that i have owned since 1969. At least i only ever paid for them once. [ i bought the '37 Terraplane that they were on]
