Does a A12GX exhaust manifold give you much more power on an otherwise standard A12?

For street duty, there are many who will agree that the GX exhaust manifold is about equal to a set of extractors. PROVIDED that the rest of the exhaust system is up to the task.

A friend races a 1200 coupe with extractors & he tells me that there is another Datsun racer that he competes against that uses a GX manifold. He reckons that this other car is awfull hard to catch, & if thats true, then the manifold is not holding him back.

Please remember, a free flowing exhaust will not "give" you power, it simply removes a bottleneck that was limiting the engines ability to perform. The power would have been there all the time.

The GX manifold is also harder to come by and has considerably more weight than a set of extractors....but I believe they flow just as well....I have both and will compare them once my engine comes back from Jeff Taylor.

I've got a GX exhaust manifold that's up for grabs---I'll be moving house soon and I have enough "useful" junk to move without it.
If anyone needs one, send me a PM

I have some GX twin SU's I want to put on an A14..would that A12 GX exhaust manifold work with them?
I had a Nismo header but that wouldn't fit with them, I assume it's for use with side draughts.

To Eddie Ratdat

Will it ever! The GX had twin SU (Hitachi) AND the twin outlet manifold. If you can get one, grab it and have 2 X 1/2 inch pipes off the end of the manifold joining under the passenger seat.

Will any extractors sold there work with the SU intake? Whatever I get will probably have to come from Aus as nothing is available here at all. I got the Nismo header from the US but it was expensive.

I'm just wondering if it would be cheaper, with regard to weight, to ship a set of extractors rather than a cast GX exhaust.

Forgot to add...what do you want for the one you have? Even if you don't want to send it overseas I have a few mates there who could forward it to me.
