Hi Guys... I'm about to fit a 32/36 DGV to my A12 motor (at some point it will become an A14) and was wondering if anyone had hit upon the best combination of primary and secondary fuel jets and Air correction jets? The motor internals are standard By the way. I'm trying to retro fit it by retaining the standard Air Cleaner as well if that makes any difference... Thanks

Just fitted the DGV over the weekend... The Jet sizes are as follows:

Type Main Secondary

Idle 55 50
Fuel 127 132
Air Corr. 175 145
E Tube F66 F66
Choke 3.5 4.5

Had initial massive overfuelling probs due to bad float level, but the linkage from the stock Htachi went straight on and was the easiest part.

I'm modifying the standard air cleaner to give it the standard look...

If anyone can tell me their appraisal of the Jet sizes and any other thoughts or comments, that'd be great.

Hi Anton,

I have my weber out in the garage. I'll get out there in a couple of days and let you know what jets it has. The jetting wasn't perfect, but 'good enough' for a stock engine.

Everyone should note that 32/36s come with varying choke sizes. 32 and 36 refers to the main bore, but the restricted part can be different sizes. I'll try to figure out what size mine is. It would probably make a huge difference to the jetting.

the choke sizes on my 'new' (2nd hand) 32/36 are 26 and 27. These numbers are stamped on the throttle linkage side of the carby.

My question is, how do you know what size the current jets are?

Thanx

In order to get the sizes of ALL the jets, tubes, etc, you'll need to take the top cover off (It takes about 6 bolts to undo).
The idle jets are the brass screws in the side of the carby, just under the top cover on the outside.
Once the top cover is off, you can check fuel jets, air correction jets, Emulsion Tubes, Choke tubes, etc. There should be small numbers stamped on all of the jets and tubes. All of them except for the choke tubes should be brass.

It might also help you to download a schematic off the web.

Thanx anb008

I've found that the air correction jets are 165 (main) and 160 (2nd) - I'm still hunting for the rest!!!

I too would like the 'ideal' jet settings for a stock a12

Any takers???

thanx

Where did you get your adapter plate?

Looks like I'll be needing one soon - hopefully next w/e

Thanx

Vaztr

PS is your name Anton? I think I read it in a previous reply. If so are you into feet? - I know this sounds silly, but I used to go to school with an Anton in Perth who now works as a podiartrist

I got my adapter plate from my local parts store. I know Redline make one and somewhere like Autobarn, etc should be able to supply it.

BTW - I'm an Administration Manager, not a Podiatrist
