The parts catalogs were available in Microficheᵂ — a small sheet of film with a document on it. This is a type of microform (microfilm). They are A6 size (postcard/photo size about 4" x 6") each with hundreds of tiny pages of the catalog. So a set about 1/4" thick is the whole catalog. Use a negative viewer and magnifier to view it. A regular paper catalog is better unless you don't have room to store the books.

Overview

The images give a good idea of what microfiche is all about. Three small A6 photographic sheets in an envelope contain everything the book has — about 750 pages!!!

This is just one-sixth of a sheet. Each image is ~5x7mm, smaller than the fingernail on your pinky finger

The downside is the viewer, they are fairly big, like the size of a desktop PC with monitor. A viewer is not included with the microfiche, but they are standard viewers. Your local library may have a viewer

This is the second catalog, which covers 1976-1977 models and also GB211 L16 models (in Japan there was no 1978 model as they started selling the B310 a year earlier there). Earlier catalogs covered the 1973-1975 models, and a separate catalog for PB210
