Clutch Won't Release Fully

Difficult to shift gears due to failure to fully release

  • improper adjustment of linkage
  • incorrect length of Release Bearing sleeve fitted

Grabby clutch

  • Drum shoe brakes too tight, or contaminated with oil or grease. Inspect drum brakes
  • Oil or grease on clutch face
  • Disc rivets loose
  • Poorly lubricated clutch disc splines
  • warped pressure plate
  • Misaligned clutch. Make sure there is no junk between gearbox
  • worn clutch cable (common with RHD clutches)
  • Worn lining. Replace disc
