The fuel level 'sender' is the sensor in the tank. It does not incorporate a fuel line, although the coupe sensor has a fuel vent fitting. For the fuel outlet line, see Fuel tank.

Overview
To remove the sender, only a screwdriver and hammer is needed. Carefully drive the retaining ring anti-clockwise until loose.
- Coupe has a vent fitting on it (non-EVAPO
- Coupe has no vent fitting (EVAPO models)
All use same 2.5" O-ring and lock plate, including B10 and B120 through B310:

Wiring
There is a single Yellow wire on the sender. It goes forward to the dash Fuel Gauge. This wire is grounded through the sender resistance.
See main article: Fuel Gauge Wiring
Sender Specifications
As measured by club members, by moving the float up and down from stop to stop:
- 10-12 ohms fully up
- 88-100 ohms fully down
- 35 ohms half full (per Nissan Factory Service Manual)
NOTE: This does not necessarily match "Full" and "Empty" marks of the fuel gauge, due to normal manufacturing tolerances. Typically a 1200 reads well 'E' before it runs out of fuel, this is normal.

Fuel Gauge Specifications
From the 1973 Datsun 1200 Factory Service Manual Ohms Mark 35 Half
Stock Fuel level gauge, ss measured by club members: * Empty mark: 73-88 ohms input * Full mark: 12 ohms
ang94541 uses an aftermarket Autometer 3515, which does doesn't match the Nissan sender except at the empty mark. It is designed for the unusual Ford senders.
