Early
All round headlight models used a wide driver's "cockpit" that encompassed the radio and center vents. This was 1977-1980.5 + all JDM VB310 van.

SGL and SGX trims use a 2+4 gauge cluster with full engine gauges, so there is no room for clock. In these models the clock in located in the center stack, above the radio towards the center of the car.

Econometer
Econometer (per Datsun catalog) was called Economonitor in Australia and ECONO MONITOR エコノモニター in Japan while the B210 version was called Econo Meter/エコノメーター.
In operation, a green light appears at low throttle openings, and a red light at heavy throttle. It is of course a type of vacuum gauge. Does it work to enhance fuel economy? Yes. By keeping acceleration light, the driver can achieve fuel savings up to 30%. And yet you still have maximum power available, should you decide to put your foot down and throw economy to the wind.
