Hitachi D4R Distributor

The Hitachi D4R electronic distributors are used by the early E-series engines. These can these be modified to work in A-series engines. See E15 Electronic Distributor Swap for details.

Overview

These have an inboard transistor ignition unit, compared to earlier 1978-1982 A-series USA distributors with the outboard "matchbox" ignition.

D4R83

D4R83 is a great Hitachi distributor, used on 1980s Nissans and Hondas. The austin boys swap them into A-series engines too.
