Non-Overdrive
56-series, which came on the Datsun 1200 GX5.
An ultralight racing transmission, homologated so that it would be allowed under FIA racing rules. Not suitable for use with A14, the racers had to be careful even when used with an A12.
Overdrive
63-series. Offered on A14-powered B210s, it is a large heavy-duty transmission that will swap into 1200s with some fabrication of mounts and clutch linkage.
60L. Rushed into production for the 1978 release of Datsun B310, this is the first transmission designed specifically for the A14 engine. It is much lighter and smaller than the 63A. Used for one model year only.
60A. A refinement of the 60-series 5-speed, it is even lighter and has a normal shift pattern. Used from 1979.
Dogleg
All A-series gearboxes are dogleg shifters, except the 60A.
