Repair

The original fuel pump is easy to repair. You can generally take them apart, clean it, then put back together using the original gasket.

Electric Fuel Pump

An electric fuel pump can be fitted if the stock mechanical pump goes bad.

Advantage:

  • Easy to troubleshoot
  • Primes the carb fuel bowl

Disadvantage

  • Extra wire needed
  • Noisy

Part Numbers

Original fuel pumps are rebuildable and have five screws holding the top chamber, and one central screw fastening the disc-top.
