- The figures quoted give an estimated fuel consumption and are the result of E.P.A. mileage tests. Depending on driving habits and the condition of your vehicle, your mileage may be more or less.

Displacement (1397cc) 85.2 cu. in.
- 70 HP SAE Net (68-Calif.). More than Chevette, and some other cars that get less gas mileage.
- In race tune, power for the two- time SCCA C-Sedan Champion B-210. (Other race-modified Datsun engines power the Datsun B-Sedan champion 710 and 6-time C-Production titlist Datsun Z-Car.)
Transmission: Manual: 4-speed with floor gearshift. Automatic: Fully automatic 3-speed transmission with torque converter. 6-position floor selector.
Gear Manual Automatic Ratio: 4-speed 3-speed 1st 3.51 2.46 2nd 2.17 1.46 3rd 1.38 1.00 4th 1.00 -- Rev 3.76 2.18 Final gear: Hypoid type. Ratio 3.89 to 1.
- 4-speed stick standard. Optional on Vega, not available on Gremlin.
Suspension and Axle: Front: Independent strut type with coil springs and stabilizer bar. Rear: Semi-floating rear axle. Semi-elliptic leaf springs with shock absorbers.
- Front suspension suspends car's center of gravity between two tall spring towers for good handling.
- Front stabilizer bar helps keep the wheels on the ground in cornering.
Brakes: Power assisted front disc brakes, 9.7 in. Rear drum brakes (leading and trailing shoes), 8.0 in.
- Tandem master cylinder system supplies braking on two wheels in case of brake failure.
- Power assisted for easy pedal pressure; short, straight stops. (Some small cars like Chevette, Pinto and Gremlin have power assist optional at extra cost.)
Wheels and Tires: 4-1/2J-13 steel disc wheels. 6.15-13 tubeless white sidewall tires. 155-SR13 radial tires optional.
Body: All-steel unibody construction with crush zones, front and rear. Lift-up rear gate (Hatchback only).
- Body panels crafted to fit. Dipped and painted before assembly.
- Spare tire mounted out of the way below cargo area floor. An extra buffer in the crush zone.
Instruments: Speedometer with odometer and resettable trip odometer. Temperature gauge. Fuel gauge. Generator, oil pressure warning light.
- Quick reading. Adjustable nighttime illumination.
- Resettable trip odometer (an extra in many cars).
Other Standard Equipment: All-vinyl upholstery. Fully reclining front bucket seats. Electric rear window defogger. Tinted glass. Flow-through ventilation system. Full carpeting. Console box. Package tray. Glove box. Fold-down rear seat (Hatchback only). Inside hood release.
- Standard items like temperature gauges and trip odometer that are optional on Vega, Chevette Coupe and Gremlin, not available on Pinto, Chevette Scooter.
Optional Equipment: Three-speed automatic transmission. Dealer installed, factory approved air conditioning. Rear window shade. Locking gas cap. Luggage rack. Roof rack. Radio (AM, AM/FM, stereo). Floor mats. Clock. Tachometer.
