The crankshaft thrust clearance (end play) should be measured any time the oil pan is removed. But especially when changing bearings or the crankshaft. If the free play is excessive, replace the crankshaft and/or thrust bearing out of the main bearing set.

Specification
Clearance limit: 0.30 mm (0.0118 inch)
Standard: 0.05 to 0.15 mm (0.0020 to 0.0059 inch)

Measure between the thrust bearing (center bearing) and crankshaft. The thrust bearing is a flanged type that counters forward/backward torque forces.

Main Bearing Set
12207-M7201 SET-BEARING STD A12 (also available in oversizes)
