R20000-00 damage, because a truck broke its propshaft and the drive never took it off the road. The only thing that servived the wreck is the left rear shock and petrol tank. Front valance, sump, sump protector, crossmembers, both front engine mountings, gearbox mounthings and right rear shock all F-CKED. |

Re: My Ute, Destroyed Got all the details of the trucks owner. He claims its not his propshaft, but little does he know, I have photos of the truck without its propshaft just 750m from were I hit the propshaft and photos of the driver and number plates.

Re: My Ute, Destroyed Damn man, that's just nasty. I hope you could get some details of the truck, and are going to get some compensation. I hate when they do that, wrote of a car once because of burst truck tyre left in the road, hit it at night when it was raining, went into a spin down a 30 foot embankment...

Re: My Ute, Destroyed Thanks Trix. I dont think the insurance will write it off as the bakkie is a 2006, worth a lot more than R20782-94 to be exact. The most expensive part is the new gearbox, priced at R10334.91. I got the fright of my life when it happened, it sounded like somebody shot of a gun in the cab. This propshaft came of a Volvo interlink and was hit by 2 other cars aswell.

 Re: My Ute, Destroyed HI,
Sorry to hear that, It`s real bad luck! I had the same happen to me last year in my Alfa Spider on the Krugersdorp Highway, the only difference was it happened in the dark of night and there were 5 cars involved, the propshaft was from a Peterbilt truck , as big as a lamp post!. I had R80 000 damage on my Spider with 15 000 km on the clocks only. They replaced the complete front and rear suspension. It felt like I stopped against a wall not knowing what hit me. I still think today it if was my UTE I could have been dead was it not for the safety of the car!
Hope you can fix it or perhaps your insurance will write it off?
Cheers Trix
