Re: spot the difference Is that true? Maybe it is metal from the head gasket -- it appears to have blown between the two cylinders, judging by the black mark between them.
The right cylinder is dark, black and moist looking. Definitely not a normal burning color.

Re: spot the difference i would think thatits blown the gasket also but i would also say that the wet area would just be oil from the galleries
