 Re: Oil sump 2/3 No, It isn't for a cherry.
You can tell it was for a North/South orientated engine by the direction of the cooling vanes/fins on the sump.
East/West sumps have cooling vanes running perpendicular to the direction of these ones.

 Re: Oil sump 2/3 Just a side note on the Cherry sump. there is two differnt types of sumps for the cherrys. the A10 one and the A12. the A12 has small reliefs mouldedinto the side of the sump so that the when crank is turning the conrods dont hit the side of the sump.
