Nice.

Sounds/looks like it runs a nice 'street' comp ratio too.

Is this going to be a race engine or street engine?

 Re: GX head
hey clyon8,

Im intending to use it for street but not a daily (maybe once a week or once every two weeks drive) and at the same time being able to go to a track and having fun.So i guess street/track.....

Ive read a couple of threads on this forum in regards of running very modified engines in the street being unpleasant. The power band not being in normal driving rpm range depending with cam used or compression being used.Ive never been down this road before so i would appreciate any info i can get.

Since it won't be a daily, im assuming with a very light flywheel and custom light tailshaft, and maybe a 4.11 diff ratio, the engine will get the revs up quicker and maybe i will get to enjoy the higher rpms on street/freeways.

any advice welcome...

Yeah pretty well said really. Heavily worked A-series are somewhat unpleasant. But they're great fun when you can really get them up and going.

I'd say a lightened flywheel and maybe an even taller ratio will see the thing fly along... btw what car is it going in? (sorry if i've missed it)

Just get a cam that is fairly decent but also sustains fairly high comp ratio.

What are you doing for induction?

Engine will be going into a 1200 coupe.

I still haven't bought any induction but am planning on twin weber 45 dcoe9s and a 4 into 1 exhaust...once again ive read 4-2-1 to be preferred on street but goin 4-1 so its alive on track high rpms.

How would a race cam go on street(hopefully moving traffic) as i was planning on getting the tomei 80* spec cam.

Tomei cam! Nice. Wish I could afford one, always wanted to try one out. Rezlo runs one and swears it is much, much better than all the other big name cams makers.

Really looking forward to hearing how it all goes. You certainly have all the right ingredients there!

 Re: GX head
did you ever write up your experience with the race cam on the street? I would think that with your 4.875 final gear it would have no problem taking off, and with the extra high RPMs it would still have a high top speed. The lightened flywheel might be the biggest issue?
