Standard vs. lightened rods

To illustrate the race rod prep topic,these rods came with a Janspeed built engine I bought secondhand years ago.Engine was built in the 70's.No idea what kind of treatment the rods received,but I always thought they removed a lot of material on them.I have used them without problems,but I would never have dared to remove so much material myself.... |

 Re: Standard vs. lightened rods Feral,can you tell just by looking at them?It would be interesting to know,I can take a closer picture if needed.I know that stronger rods were available at the time(12100 M0820),but I have no way of knowing if these are standard rods or not.This was a beautiful engine,with the factory alloy oil pan,factory lightweight flywheel,competition oil pump with cooler,competition distributor,GX head with 37/30 valves and double springs,320
