Its also important to note that the TS series kb110s never competed in the GP series that the LZ sunny competed in.Some have made this assumption in the past and confused with the GP TS-A kb110s.

 Re: Oh #OOPS# !
Good point. This race was the debut of the Sunny Excellent (L-series engine), which is why most of the cars are still 1200s

http://www2.tokai.or.jp/sunny/72-05-03.htm
* TS-A (Touring Sedan)
* class 1: 1300 cc
* class 2: 1600 cc

It says they are L14 "scaled up" to 1598 cc. The LZ wouldn't come out until the next year

 Re: Oh #### !
Found the video again and watched it carefully.

This is a Toyota Motor Co. promotional video of their works team Celicas and Levins.

The start accident was caused by some greedy Sunny drivers, who succeeded in putting five Sunnys out of the race.

Another three Sunnys got smashed during the race, but it probably didn't have a big impact since the works Toyotas were so strong.

The fastest Sunny Excellent (#62) came up fifth. It's hard to tell if there were any other Excellents left at that point.

A-Series Sunnys, e10 X1 Coupes & Corolla 1200's brought up the rest of the field.

For the finale, the three lead Celicas slowed and let the Levin move to the #3 position for a p.r. photo.

Ya know that reminds me..
I have a couple of old Datsun Race posters out in the garage that I had up in my bedroom about 20+ yrs ago.
I will dig them out and snap some pics.

Oops I think I gave away my age

Indeed, the first four finishers were Toyotas (all Class 2 big engine)

The first Class 1 finishers were Corollas.

Sunny would gain domination in 1973

The story behind this picture is in the Tech Section article B110 Racing History in Japan

This was the "Race of Negligent Destruction!"

What a blast these guys must have had!

A still from a Japanese video, and I believe a couple of Toyotas ended up taking 1st and 2nd.
