If anybody wants to go see this car, it is in Lindley (Freestate). It stands infront of a shop right across from Standard Bank every day.

I wont be taking this one, I picked up a complete 1980 Ute today for next to nothing. Will post pics when it arrives. Its only has a small ding in the tailgate.

I would prefer a GX, but they are scares. The one I do know about, the owners will never sell them.

You dont maybe have one laying around, do you.

A 1200GX?
There are some running around here in Bloem, but I think that they will not be for sale. I am actually looking for another one, but again, to get past my wife is another story.

Bought this week a set of Dellortos.
Man, was I in trouble.
You can just imagine
Now, they are either for sale again or back to the seller.

Give 1200GXman the adress to go have a look at it for you. I found that he has a nick for seeing problems, and he will point out any problem areas very easily. I might remotely consider buying it if you don't want it, my frame is actually slightly to big for the 1200(no I won't sell it...), so this will suit me better...

EDIT: And it's been in the Free State all it's life, so the rust should be limited.

 Re: 180 SSS
The presant owner bought this in 1975 second hand. She is the second owner.
It does have Twin carb and is a 1800.

Engine runs well.
Gearbox is dodgy.
Diff whines like a mother in law
No rust.
Interior is disgusting. Dash still 100%, no cracks
Paint ia up to SH-T.
Exhaust, WHAT exhaust!!!!
Only minor dents

This car is still a daily driver.

Will it be worth my while to buy this for a project car.

Price: 4500.00 ZAR
762.16 AUD

A good idea is:
Find out if you can still get parts for all the stuff that needs fixing. Find out how much everything will cost to fix up to your standard. Add another R5000 just to be save because you are going to do more than you planned.
My GX is already turning at the R30 000 spend on it. THE WIFE IS NOT HAPPY.

That car would go for over $5,000 AUD if it was in australia, I reckon its a bargain (but then maybe they arent worth much over there?)

Well it's one of the P510 family of fine cars, but that grille looks like it might be strictly ZA [South African]

This basic bodyshell [including 2 door variations] looks like it was available, at one time or another, in one place or another, with the L13, L14[?] L16 & now, the L18 engines.
Local model designations of Bluebird, 1300, 1600, 510, & it now looks like 180, have been used. [did I miss any?]
The SSS suffix is for twin carb models.
