Re: A15 turbo intercooler why is there 2 breathers on the rocker cover, did you modify it?
and how did you get the breather pipe out of the block, i tried on a spare motor today, hitting it with a hammer to loosen it but it just started deforming the pipe

Re: A15 turbo intercooler The rockercover is from a Datsun 140A Cherry and it comes with two breathers! The breather pipe from the block came out easily but sometimes they are stuck like as they were welded!!!

Re: A15 turbo intercooler to get the preather pipe out of the block I used a pair of Stilsons and a pair of pliers, I tunred the pipe with the stilsons and pulled it outwards with the pliers, and slowly it came out

Re: A15 turbo intercooler Sounds like me... about 200 pics of my buildup too but I've still got a long way to go on the body etc. Unfortunately I'm internet challanged so I can't figure how to make a website that I'd be happy with.

Re: A15 turbo intercooler I've removed at least three of the breather pipes using the method that i had described in an earlier post. No real problem with those ones. All were 1200 engines.

Re: A15 turbo intercooler 1200RC If you were squashing it, then you were NOT tapping it. Tap it with a soft hide or copper hammer if you can find one. Tap it all around in a circular pattern, you know, up, down, left, right blah blah. You are only trying to get it to move a little.
Once it has loosened enough to move it by hand, then wrap one or both hands around it, & work it slowly at first. [this is where i got into strife again] Work it in any pattern that includes most cardinal points of the compass while exerting some outward pressure. As it gets near to the end of its spigot you can get a little more frantic with smaller moves & it should come out right in your hand.
Well, it worked for me.

Re: A15 turbo intercooler have any of u ever thought of heating the sorrounding area with a butane torch? i used this method to get the little cylindrical block out of my rear brake adjusters. and they were rusted bloody tight im sure it would work the same.
