We live in a quiet rural area & the "parking by ear" problems were, & are, to a large extent, non existant...... fortunately.

Ahhhh, beautiful. I am a bit concerned that my 1000 may never see the day when it looks as good as this one. Short to medium term plans see it under a cover while I am overseas. 3 to 5 years in the future it may see a brighter outcome.

It's amazing what you can do when new original parts are available. Datsun dealers were disposing of old stock at 50% discount to other dealers. My Datsun parts man passed the savings on to me. This was 50% off the unchanged early 70's price mind you. This car got two new front guards, 1 new door & boot lid, new blinkers, parkers, tail lights, all door & window rubbers & a whole lot of other stuff including a new grille.

The front guards were about $56 each from memory & i bought about five of them. The last two are going on my coupe.

The 1200 engine ran flat top pistons. They were Repco replacements for the 1000 engine. A mild sports cam & an electric choke, stock type carb. Nothing too good for my woman. It also ran a 1000 coupe exhaust manifold with it's dual outlet & a matching exhaust system. It was one smoooth running ride.

Later on it got mags, GX head & intake system along with a 5 speed.

That is a beatiful car!

And compared to some I've seen, the photos ain't that bad.
