It's there so it directs air up into the radiator as well as providing a fair amont of downforce in the process.

You know, a 120y rear seat would make a great sofa!

The front bar should fit with the bech bar you may have to cut away some steet away from the under side of your bar .The bar in the picture is the plug which the mould is made off .the blue part has been added on if you look closely the lower appron panel has been chopped to fit the blue section in .the idea is either an intercooler or direct air to the raidiator .there will also be an optional add on lip that will bolt on the lowest point on the bottom lip of the bar ,it basically extends the front bottm lip by 20 cm and is 10/15cm off the ground .unfortunately ive been concerntrating on 1200 parts .Ok so i better finish it off and get a few out to the public cheers geoff

Just curious, but when did a front air dam become a 'bar'? It is clearly not a bumper bar & the term is quite misleading, or is this just a local Queensland name?
I've already had three overseas members ask me what's the deal with the name & so help me, I don't have a clue.

I think it comes from the more modern cars which have an integrated air dam and front bumper. I guess when we apply it to a datsun it would have to replace the chrome bumper as well??

First time i heard of it was nissansilvia.com, and it had me wondering for a while too...

Thanks Dazza. I have heard of wings, scoops skirts & air dams before, but 'bar' is a relatively new one on me.
The creators that made the first ones that I saw called them,.... ummmm,.. air dams.
Glad i'm not the only one who was wondering.

Such a thing as Copyright.
My guess is the air dam that you so talk of, is actually known as a "Spoiler" by its creators.
Since your head is so far up your arse, is that plate in the middle with numbers on it;
A number plate?
A licence plate?
or
A registration plate?
Point is " Who really gives a Toss?"

I will stay watching for future pics of the bar, 120fly.

That's a dumbarse question. Its a front bar because thats what its creator called it.
Yeah also I have had 3 members ask me today " What's the deal with this dodgy guy, does he have a clue?"

It's looking good 120fly. Will you be making a shorter version of this also?

It is a front bar and has always bee known as that along as ive known ,an air dam is an area on a part that encourages air to gather for a positive effect on your car as a result .EG a bonnet scoop is an air dam as it collects air .rear wings are air dams as they collect air to create a down force to gain traction .the air dam on the bar creates down force on the front and also collects air for the radiator ,the two air dams on the on each side colect air for the brakes .cheers geoff
Yep phunk the one in the photo is the short version i will post some pics of the bar with add on tommorow
