Late model Distributor plate (top) vs early plate (bottom). When fitting the newer distributor to a 1967-1973 engine, cut where yellow marks are -- not where this one is cut. |

Re: modified dizzy plate i think this needs to be done when using a distributor from an a12 where it is mounted at the front of the motor in one that is mounted towards the rear of the motor some wone may prove me rong

Re: modified dizzy plate That's right. The two plates are the difference between 1967-1973 engines (distributor at front) and 1974-2006 engines (distributor in middle of block).
Use any distributor you want, but keep the plate that matches the engine. I've updated the photo description to be more informative.
