Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T datman55 2004/10/4 7:09 Tell a friend 2310 7 0.00 (0 votes)
Pic of the piston used in the FJ20T for the Sunny. They are forged Cosworth items, machined to suit. The rings in front of the pistons ae actually sealing rings whcih sit in the block - recessed at the top of each bore. There are no fire rings in the head gasket. |

Re: Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T No I don't think so, they are made of brass...pretty sure they are simply machined up from solid brass.

Re: Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T The FJ rods look pretty beefy. What kinda output are you expecting from the FJ And do you have to run the 36mm turbo restrictor??

Re: Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T Yeah, we have to run the restrictor :(( The restrictor limits us to about 330-350bhp (flywheel), so we are aiming for 330.
the rods are standard FJ rods which have been shot peened and crack tested - they will be more than up to the task!

Re: Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T i saw an FJ20T make 500hp at the wheels with standard rods. Then on the next run it made 520hp but bent the rod and put a massive hole in the block when they backed off.

Re: Cosworth Pistons used in FJ20T Yeah...I am pretty confident that the bottom end will be plenty strong enough.
