i think its of a 180b i seen two sets at a swap meet a few weeks ago and they look real similar to this one

Big difference between 'similar' & 'the same'
180B used a two bolt flange, not four.
This one is a Hitachi carb & not an S.U. so it's definately not off an Austin or a Morris.

The beauty of a suck through turbo is that the carb sees a steady airflow, rather than a pulse airflow, which stops & starts. A constant flow of air will be easier to tune to &, generally speaking, you can get away with fewer/ smaller carbs that is normally seen on a non turbo instalation with more satisfactory results in regards to carb tuning.
Variable venturi designs seem to be well suited to suck through's & this should work well.

240Z used a larger Hitachi than the 4-cylinder models. Maybe that's what it is?

The first A-series twin Hitachis manifold I ever owned had this 4 stud mounting arrangment, It was a factory item and had lots and lots of holes for all sorts of fittings. [which suggests it was from a late model vehicle with twin carbs] It was difinately and A-series oval port manifold.

I will see if I can dig up some pics of it...

That looks an Austin / mini cooper carb with a cover on top to add oil .

I don't know what this was originally used on, but it doesn't look like 1200 or A12 GX, nor does it look to be from a 1600, or 180B SSS. Even the carbs used on the JDM 810 & 910 SSS models used a two bolt flange.
