Good idea. A friend of mine had suggested the same thing. He had the idea of heat-forming the extra material to the existing steering wheel. I'm not sure how accurately that would work. Do you have any idea where I could find a pearl/pearloid steering wheel? Or maybe where I could get mine done?

 Re: newly painted dash
So here it is. I got the idea to do this to my dash when a friend of mine brought over his new fender american series strat (truly a beautiful sight). It was tangerine with a white pearloid pickguard. After seeing the guitar I was inspired to paint my b310 with House of Kolor Tangelo paint and cover the dash with pickguard material (I chose black because I had already planned on changing the interior to black). Now let me tell ya, this stuf was an absolute bitch to find. I looked up a ton of pickguard manufacturers but could only find a small amount of material, not to mention the material was 4-ply, which made it too thick and expensive. I went as far to call Fender and their manufacturer in China (I did hear back from China and the material with shipping was about 25 USD). Eventually I was directed to a vendor in my area called Jammin Sam (www.jamminsam.com). He had the amount of material I need and the cost was only about 32 USD, not too shabby.

One of those pearl steering wheels that are in the likes of 60's models impalas would look sweet as in front of that dash.
Nice job
