Top one is the GX's, and the bottom one the bakkie's. Notice how much thicker the GX bar is than the bakkie one. I'll be fitting the GX one back on...

What thickness is the bakkie one Francois? Im sure its not but it looks thinner than a standard B110 item.

I believe the parts book in Australia, said that the GX and standard front sway bar is the same thing. I also think that the bakkie one might be thinner.

I was about to measure it this morning, after taking the pic, but my hurry to get to work neglected to. Will measure it after work and post specs...

Im sure the standard B110 item (in aus anyway) is 16mm,

120y (B210)standard is 19mm.

I havent measured them for a while, this is only from memory.

Hi all, I measured them this morning, the bakkie one measures 17mm and the GX one 20mm.

This is probably a stupid comparison, but take into account, that by increasing a throttle body's size by 10mm, you can flow 70% more air through it. The same or similar should apply here, 3mm doesn't seem like much, but it's a lot more metal to bend/flex.

I wonder if the GX item shares the same p/no as the 120(B210) standard bar.

That bakkie bar looks so thin but then again I havent seen a stocker one for a long time.

The difference in handling is very noticable, you wouldnt want to go any thicker for the road.

Just looking at the picture, it doesn't seem as if the 120Y one will fit in the 1200, it seems much wider. But they may have made the same thickness one for the 1200 GX here in ZA.

They are for ever changing car specs and setups when they come here, something to do with the types of roads(read sh!tty roads) we have here. Also most of the times they specify bigger radiators for ZA...

EDIT: read the wiki, it does seem to fit staight in...

EDIT AGAIN: and now I know which rubbers to order, as the bakkie ones was to small...

LAST EDIT: Having read the swap thread, I can say that they must have made the 20mm one specifically for the 1200 GX in ZA, as it doesn't have the dip in the middle as mentioned in the thread.

ZA GX probably just uses the swaybar designed for Japan GX.

Kululadotgroen, Ive used the 120y bar but only with stanza lower arms and they give you wider track so thats why it would all line up. Ive never tried the 120y bar with 1200 lower arms.
