Re: need a little help water pump it's an aluminum casting, and the reason it leaks is because the Bering's let go, she had a wobble in it. I found the part. We ordered for a L1600 1971 510 water pump.

Re: need a little help water pump They are usually cast iron. Sometimes they get corroded, but they don't technically wear out.
Usually the shaft bearing wears out, and other get loose, makes noise or leaks coolant.
